the #amazonfail

Yes, I'm aware of it, and displeased as hell - Amazon is a great source of those hard-to-impossible to find books, and the only place I can get socks, coffee, and books all in one order. If they don't get over their "adult materials policy" (more details here) I'll be sad to stop using them.

Like BeaucoupKevin, I'm giving 'em a week: this did blow up on Easter weekend and a corporation that big surely can't turn on a dime.

This really sucks. Like Kevin, the blogger you linked to, I'm a heavy user of AMZ's mp3 store and I really, really, really like their Kindle for iPhone app. So it'll be a shame to girlcott the site. But OTOH, if I can't find the books I want to read, that speak to me, then the site is worthless.

I'm holding my outrage at arm's length, at least for the moment. It's sounding like this "glitch" was a poorly thought out and being fixed, but can't happen overnight (http://is.gd/s9AH).

Having seen how even tiny programming projects can generate exponential bugs, I'm inclined to give Amazon the benefit of the doubt.

Not super enthused, but I'm not on the warpath either.

Yeah, I just read the link you posted on Twitter. Sounds like there was still some intent to marginalize LGBT authors at the start, though.

Just when this country makes some progress wrt gay rights, something like this happens and takes us two steps back. :(
