never enough

So, I went to Summer Nationals qualifiers today..

I didn't qualify. That didn't surprise me. What did, to my chagrin, was that my results were completely expected - apart from the odd touch for or against, I did about how I thought I'd do.

Which is disappointing, partly because I (as always) wanted to do better, but also just because it confirms the plateau I'm on: win a couple in pools, just enough to get me to DE, then strike out with 7-8 touches in the first DE.

Dull, dull.

Sometimes a plateau heralds a jump forward. I hope this is the case this time.

Or maybe I don't - doing better = more attention, and I HATE to be the focus of concentrated attention. I am not good at being "the star".

Hmm - might need to work on that as well.

Hey, sorry to hear quals were a frustrating experience but congrats on qualifying after all! Regarding doing well bringing unwanted attention, if it's really your preference, to a certain degree you always have the right to ask your clubmates to avoid coming to watch you and most people will respect that.
