Badger and I did some filming of each others' fencing in Atlanta. I've finally had a chance to sit down with the video of my pools.

Oh nooooo....

I'm bent over in such a "c" shape I'm sure that both my grandmothers are crawling out of their graves to make me walk around with a book on my head - I knew my posture was bad, but I didn't realize HOW bad.

And my footwork is positively leaden, slow motion. Badger said something about some Ukrainian saying about crows trying to be falcons and being the best crow one can be, but I look more like an ostrich imitating a dodo - trying to stick my head in the sand and go extinct simultaneously :(

Haven't had the heart to watch the whole thing yet - surely, SURELY I improve over time.

Punch line: Coach also has a copy of the disc.

Well, if anyone would film me working out, I'm sure I'd never set foot outside my house again. I'd be traumatized for life. And I'm pretty sure you're much more fit than I am...

It is mortifying to view, but I needed the feedback; and I also need to show it to the people who can help me fix what I'm doing wrong. I knew it would be ugly, I'm just rather appalled at HOW ugly...

Definitely bad posture for any activity, but now that you're aware, I know you'll be rabid about monitoring yourself and fixing (ditto for the footwork) ... you've mastered much in the sport over the past few years and you'll conquer this too.

Also remember ... 7 touches! So you were doing good and right things too ... don't forget to see those as well as the bad! :-)
