Due to a water main break last night, my locale is under boil water advisory/restricted water use for the next 3 days. It's not just about water safety but also usage - biggest impact for us is no laundry, no dishwashing. The latter kinda impacts eating as well - we're having crockpot stew for the next few days.

dotheranon has been through something like this before so he promptly went out and got gallons of bottled water for drinking, brushing teeth, washing face etc.

Should be... interesting.

It's a mighty trek (probably more than it's worth if this is only for a few days), but you're more than welcome to the use of our washer and dryer if the laundry situation gets too dire.

When the hurricane came through several years ago, we were under a boil order for a while. C. had the foresight to fill up the bathtub and a bunch of gallon jugs with clean water before the storm hit, so it wasn't too onerous. Still not much fun though. Sympathies. =)

Conveniently (?) though, Rockville proper isn't affected so if it gets totally out of hand I can find a laundromat nearby. Fortunately I got most of it done this past weekend so we're not completely without.

Tomorrow, I'm grabbing paper plates so washing dishes will be limited to pots and pans and there will be lots of one pot type of meals, so clean up is minimal.

It might be time to go get that grill I've been needing to replace. ;-p
