addendum re: pregame food

Yep, I definitely didn't have a good breakfast plan this morning....

I clearly have some sort of habit of eating too much when I don't need to and not enough (or the wrong things) when I do.

I think part of this has been subliminal disbelief that I might actually be some sort of athlete, and I'd better start eating like one :P

Found here, though the writer's suggestion of oatmeal might not be enough for me - I have a bowl on the average workday and the desk job still has me feeling scrawny by noon.

Have you read The New Rules of Lifting for Women by Lou Schuler with Cassandra Forsythe, M.S. Workout programs by Alwyn Cosgrove?

Whether you do decide to follow his weightlifting plan, he definitely does a great job of explaining and prescribing a good athlete's diet. I think his recipes are a bit unimaginative, but if one uses the nutrient balance as a starting point . . . I think that should work.

Oops. I forgot that we'd left the computer w/ her logged in to LJ. I'm sure you had a bit of a guess that she wasn't making that post.

. . . .. . . .

Well, it seemed odd, but then, she coulda been going through your bookshelves, and she does like to cook!

Thanks for the recommendation, at any rate - I think today was a (mild, nerf-like) clue-bat to the head!
