Upping the ante: if I do know something about you, post something that I don't know!

I know very little about some of the people who read my journal. Some people I know relatively well. I read your journals, or we have something else in common and we chat occasionally. Some of you I hardly know at all. Perhaps you lurk, for whatever reason. But you read me and I thank you for your interest.
But here's a thought: why not take this opportunity to tell me a little something about yourself. Any old thing at all. Just so the next time I see your name I can say: "Ah, there's so and so...they listen to the Carpenters and know all the lyrics". I might feel compelled to sing along with you when I remember this detail.
I'd love it if every single person who reads me would do this. Yes, even you people who I know really well. If you would like, post this in your own journal and see what gems of knowledge appear.
Upping the ante: if I do know something about you, post something that I don't know!

I will forever regret not taking full advantage of playing in a garage band that was theoretically capable of fielding a piccolo-souzaphone-bagpipe trio.
(P.S. At some very vague point in the future, I may ask if you'd be willing to be a Subject Matter Expert critical reader for my current novel project. It has to do with girls with swords.)

And I'll happily be a SME if you accept the disclaimer that I'm far from expert in all sword combat!

I learned how to crack a bullwhip and bullwhip tricks from a 'real' cowboy. (Even have my own cowboy hat and bullwhip.)
This is a neat subject. Hmm, I may have to try it.

Tres kewl! I didn't know there were bullwhip tricks outside of roping cattle (or artifacts, if you're Indiana Jones). Just what can you do?

I live in Roxbury Mill, am married with a kid, love fiber arts, reading, writing, cooking, sci-fi, and travel.
When I lived in England for a semester back in 1989, I got the chance to act on a London stage. I was taking a Shakepeare class at the Rose Theatre in Southwark, across from where hte Globe is, The professor wanted a pair of students to perform something from Romeo and Juliet. I'd done the balcony scene the semester previous in acting class and still remembered most of the lines.
A friend was cast as Romeo and we went through things a bit and then there we were! I was up on a balcony on a London stage performing Shakespeare.

In high school, I got the role of Beneatha in Lorraine Hansberry's Raisin in the Sun. The drama teacher said he picked me not because I was a particularly talented actor but because I was dependable and would come to every rehearsal.

... Kai still gives me chills when I see him on screen.

Truth told, I've not watched an episode in... I don't know when. I might have to test to see if I still get chills :P
