fencing, modern and historic

Today I finally had a time to edit/upload more fencing doublet pix:

Doublet, side view
This is natural light, so it's easier to see details (and on my screen at least, the color looks richer!)

These two aren't for detail, but movement

"On Guard" stance, Fabris style - very hard on the back so I don't actually use this that often!

Capo Ferro "on guard", my usual rapier on guard.

Full gallery from work in progress to completion.

I also got off my butt and made my golf ball target for sport foil (and to a lesser extent, smallsword) point control practice - damn but that thing is hard to hit, and hence, good practice!

Easy to make though, once I drilled through the golf ball's crunchy exterior to get at the mushy middle (we are a two Dremel tool family - this pleases me :))
ext_78889: Elizabeth I armor (fear the frilly collar)

Oh, it's wonderful! I love the color, the material is great, it fits you wonderfully! And I have a weakness for women in boy's Elizabethan :D

Thank you!

And love the icon :)

Can I tell you how much that doublet and hose rocks?

And: You with the instructional manual poses is ver-r-ry sexy. In a "wow, I never wished there was a photo album of women dressed in men's Elizabethan demonstrating rapier stances, but....DAY-UMN."

Glad you're getting so much done!

Gorgeous! I'd love to have a transplant of your sewing patience. :-)

P.S. Knowing that you don't like your face showing in the piccies ... ever thought of using a remnant of velvet (or something equally luxurious) and making yourself a period mask to go with the outfit? You could have a whole wardrobe of 'em. ;-)
