sugar hangover

Repeat after me: coffee is not water. Chocolate - even the wonders of dark chocolate M&Ms - is not strictly food.

Even after dinner got rid of my headache, I still had a candy-coma yukky feeling with sugar-coated dragonbreath taste in my mouth. I went to bed (relatively) early and I think I feel better, but I rather suspect it's too early to tell.

Tangential: why does my LJ not know what time it is?

According to my copy of "Chocolate : the consuming passion", by Sandra Boynton, 8 oz. of milk chocolate with almonds contains .16mg vitamin B1 (thiamin), .96mg B2 (riboflavin), 1.6mg niacin, 560mg vitamin A, 4mg iron, 616mg phosphorus, 768mg potassium, 520mg calcium, and 20.8mg of protein.

Thus, 8 oz. of milk chocolate with almonds is MORE nutritious than:

several shreds of carrot or
1 tablespoon of yogurt or
1/2 slice of apple or
1 teaspoon of peanut butter or
1 grape or
6 curds of cottage cheese

And I'm sure dark chocolate is even MORE nutritious!

Hope you're feeling somewhat less yukky today. :-)

P.S. I'd noticed that your clock seemed to be wonky; also, for some reason, lately LJ occasionally is deciding that your entries will not appear on my friends page, even though you are on my list and I can see the entries if I go into your LJ (it's not consistent either ... sometimes an entry will be visible on my friends page, an hour later it's gone, and next day it's back ... this has been going on for a couple of weeks and so far it only seems to be your journal that's doing this ... maybe the time and appearance things are linked?)
