wealthy cats

My cats are richer than doG.

I say this because I cleaned out their "toy closet" (shelf in pantry) today and found:

  • ~30 fur mice of varying colors/sizes
  • ~15 rattan or other non-fur mice
  • balls: ping pong, mini tennis, and rubber
  • several catnip toys, unused and hence, fresh
  • a couple of unopened attachments for the "toys on a string on a stick" dealie
  • 2 feather duster toys
  • homemade feather "darts"
  • supplies for making more darts
  • a bag full of miscellaneous plastic things that go "click" on the floor
  • a bag of bells
  • leather scrap strips (for chewing, dammit! Though I've been known to borrow a few)

This is in addition to the motorized mouse, catnip toys and crinkly tube they got from D.'s mom when she visited and the darts, feathers, and mice currently "in play".

The way they were lurking around you'd think I'd opened a bank vault :P I'd better be careful to be nice to them, I hear a good peon/cat servant is worth 6 fur mice on the feline black market and with all their loot they could afford a small island nation...

Nope, my cats aren't spoiled, not mine, no :P

When I had to replace my stove a few years ago, my roommate and the deliveryman found five catnip mice, two busy balls, and an intact walnut under the stove, all courtesy of Malfoy-the-cat's attempts to burrow underneath the stove despite weighing 14 pounds....

Who knows why cats choose the "storage areas" they do :P
