pressing question of the day
Given all the serious news, I thought I'd try and introduce some levity:
Who should Whedon cast as Wonder Woman?
I'm thinking his casting person needs to start combing the Olympic athletes for a woman who can act. I'm thinking Gabrielle Reese in a black wig - tall, muscular, buxom.
Thoughts?

I just wonder if they're going to be exploring any aspect of Wonder Woman's status as a bondage icon - -

Problem is it seems every actress on tv is tiny and/or skinny. Even though Sarah Michelle Gellar kicked ass as Buffy, she's only, what, 5'2"? Too small for Wonder Woman.
I heard some speculation (http://www.sliceofscifi.com/archives/slice_of_sci-fi_serenity_unbleeped_special_report.html) that the actress who played Inara was a possibilty, but same problem - not buff. Hence my opinion that he needs to look among the ranks of women who eat :P
Would be VERY curious to see about the bondage icon status, depending on the actress...

Or if she has any daughters/nieces or something..

I'm not sure she's the best for the job - maybe it's just that I've not seen MB in anything except Firefly/Serenity, but I'm not convinced she's athletic enough to be convincing.

off the top of my head, I can't think of any current actresses that could really pull off WW. Linda Hamilton circa T2 would be a great WW, just dye hair and she's ready to kick ass. jeezes I love watching her do pull-ups in the psycho ward.
no matter what though, it will probably be smarter to go with an actress that can buff up a bit, than someone who's buff but never acted.
