the power of cozy

Dreary gray morning - not cold yet, but it will be. I'm very pleased though because I'm wearing new socks - fluffy and thick. It's amazing how the smallest things can make me happy.

Winter happy makers:

Clothes: socks (of course!), in many varieties - reinforced sole, polarfleece, knee high. I'm especially pleased with my new stripey knee high socks, as they go well with the "crazy cat lady" image I'm trying to cultivate :P Shearling booties on top of socks in the coldest weather are very heaven :)

Food: Cocoa and Irish coffee, in that order, because I need more calcium (incidentally, it would take 88.88 cups of brewed coffee to kill me. Good to know...). Brunswick stew and tomato bisque soup are also warm, fluffy foods :)

Polarfleece blankets also help, when I can wrestle them away from the cats ;)

What makes super cold (or for cold-seekers, extreme heat) berable for you?

winter cozies

-My boyfriend, who radiates extreme heat even in the deadest of winter
-My featherbed
-My cat
-An overheating laptop
-A big mug full of fresh, hot COFFEE
-My fleece stripey slipper socks that make said BF crack up :)
-A very hot shower
-Earmuffs for my ears which apparently are totally lacking in any type of circulatory system

But then I don't have to worry much about the cold since we just broke 80 degrees today down here. Can't wait to go to Greece where they have a REAL winter!
:)

Hot showers are most excellent, but they dry me out :( I would add to my list: fish oil tablets, to keep me from feeling like a scaly monster!
