playing catch-up

D. and I just finished the very un-Halloweeny "Barbarella". I saw it as a teenager (it's required viewing for all good little teenage Duranies, because of the name of the villian), but didn't remember how staggeringly cheesy it was! At least the costumes were good (Paco Rabane, he of the silver chainmail 60s miniskirt-things).

Everyone I know is doing such cool stuff, I had planned to catch up on correspondence/commentary tonight, but the internet was out half the evening :P

Oh, I had such a crush on Pygar in that movie when I saw it the first time!!!! Yes, though - it is INCREDIBLY cheesy, kind of painful to watch, isn't it????? :-))))

Actually, it was kind of funny - I think because it didn't want to be. The "curling hair" thing was without question the funniest "sex" scene I've ever seen!

That is so much fun to watch ... just tuck your standards away in a drawer somewhere and enjoy! :-)

I love watching Barbarella, if I'm in a bad mood or are just feeling plain down, I load my DVD-player with Barbarella and *vips!* I'm humming and all cheerful :))

"very pretty, pretty pretty...

It IS a surprisingly cheerful film. The music reminds me of the old "Love Boat" theme - singularly disturbing in science fiction of any kind...

Aha! I remember that one! "På kryss med kärleken" in Swedish - On cruise with love, or even worse: On cross with love.
