stuffed brain syndrome
You know you're an adult when homework is... kinda fun.
My database class hasn't eaten my life, but it is taking a good chunk of time. I think the reason it doesn't feel so overwhelming is because parts of it are intriguing enough to keep me interested and stimulate my mind.
The reading isn't particularly interesting - it's necessary but could never be called exactly "gripping" reading :P The labs, however, are very involving. Friday night I spent around 2 hours creating and tweaking an entity relationship diagram (for those who don't work in computers I'll spare a long winded description - basically it's a data modeling tool). I did some related problems... twice, because they didn't click the first time.
It's not like I'm working solidly for hours on end - I take breaks to move laundry around or tag some old LJ entries - but I'm feeling like a sponge that has soaked up everything it can. I'd sorta like to move to the next step but I know I'm so overloaded that I'd get nowhere with it, so I'm saving it for tomorrow evening.
It's not as fun as, say.... an evening out with friends. Or a good dinner, or a funny movie. But it is intellectually compelling, even to the point of mental exhaustion. Kinda good :)
