history lesson

Gay/lesbian pulp book covers from the 1950s-60s: Strange Sisters and Gay on the Range. Some funny, some thought provoking, some not safe for work (ok, so hardly racy by modern standards, but still FYI).

Some of the guy ones are very Tom of Finlandesque. I have no idea whether it's intentional or not!

Oh doG yes, the Bulletcone Brassieres of Doom (or something equally fatal beginning with "b")!

Read the jacket blurbs - some of them are so hyperinflatedly dramatic you'll laugh your ass off!

I like the one where the guy in in the doorway, watching the two girls in bed, and he has an eyepatch, and is holding his fedora firmly over his crotch!

A few of the covers look as if they could be George Quaintance (1903-1957) art ... he was a contemporary of Tom's (just died a lot younger) and had a similar style.
