Did manage to do my taxes yesterday - got a small return, which is always nice :)

I was getting in D.'s hair badly, so as the weather turned out not to be as shit as predicted I took in a late matinee of "Hotel Rwanda". If you've not seen it - go. Really. It is NOT depressing, though the subject matter certainly is - rather, more inspiring, like Schindler's List. Don Cheadle should get the Oscar for it (maybe he did - weren't the awards last night? I suppose I could check).

Weekend plans: not sure I have any. There's coffee and perhaps fencing to go to on Sunday, but depending on my progress with my class/catching up on sleep I may give one or both a miss.

My only "must do" for the weekend is to find a new source for Patak's Korma coconut sauce - both Safeway and the local Indian grocery seem to have stopped carrying it, and it's an essential ingredient of Friday night vindaloo. This omission is not to be tolerated...

Oscars are Sunday night. I am planning to see Hotel Rwanda next week hopefully - I have been wanting to see it for some time. I've heard that Don Cheadle's acting is extremely good in it, but I don't think anyone is going to beat out Leonardo DiCaprio for Aviator or Jamie foxx for Ray.

Ohhh! Vindaloo you say? Hmmmmm.... this knowledge may come in handy around August....

The Aviator I could have missed, but I was curious about Ray. I'm not sure why I missed it in theaters, apart from being distracted by other things.

And yes - D. and I have been using a vindaloo recipe that semmie17 gave me ages ago. Korma sauce + vindaloo paste = a sweetish sauce with a sting in it's tail, rather nice. Goes well with cashews :)
