movie reviews

Spending far too much time in front of the tube, but not for naught:

Stage Beauty: Watched last night; a story about a great male "stage beauty" right before women are allowed to perform on stage in the 17th century. Witty, ribald, funny, and sweet, also well acted - and as near as I can tell, well dressed, right down to the historically accurate but heinously fussy "dog ear" curls on the women. Recommended :)

Kissing Jessica Stein: Story of a frustrated single girl with a twist - she finally meets a nice.. girl! Wonderfully sweet and silly, has a happy ending, but not the one you expect :)

LOVE Jessica Stein!!!!! (just thinking about her blind dates from hell gives me the giggles) "Stage Beauty" added to the must-see list ... sounds fascinating! Thank you!

Heard of "Jessica Stein" for ages, but somehow managed to miss seeing it until D. suggested it. We both think it is awfully romantic and cute - but cute in a good way, not cute in a pink-fluffy-bunny way :)

Agreed. This is MY kind of "cute". Have you seen Love Actually? It, too, is the right kind of cute (and worth seeing just for having Hugh Grant cast as the British Prime Minister ... LOL!!!!)
