weekend

After much rushing around yesterday, D. and I decided to have a (reasonably) quiet day together.

Started off with my mom's recipe for sweet rolls. They were almost crunchy due to the fact that I rather overdid the cinnamon and sugar, but that seemed to work rather well :)

Both of us had looked forward to "Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow" so we saw that this afternoon. It's an old fashioned retro-adventure movie, filmed in this amazing almost black and white/Vaseline-smeared lens style that is really stunning. Jude Law - clever hero; Gwynneth Paltrow - annoying but necessary love interest; Angelina Jolie - pneumatic and tough, as ever. Go see :)

The weather this weekend has been FANTASTIC! A bit overly windy yesterday, but nice and cool, we opened the windows and aired out. The cats love us now!

Feeling a little low-key tonight. Not tired (actually feeling better than I have for the past couple of days), just moody.

Think I might go read and move some laundry around...

Sounds like a perfectly loverly day to have spent with the significant other. And sweet rolls? Mmmmm - may be another recipe you have to bring with you this weekend. Was that a subtle enought hint, LOL!!!

Sweet rolls can actually be made using the same biscuit recipe I sent - it's wonderfully flexible :) I'll make whatever version y'all pick, just be prepared for a mess - flour gets all over the kitchen!

We missed you guys yesterday. My thought was "at least there's no pesky plot keeping me from enjoying how pretty everything is". ;)

There was a plot, sort of - but it had holes. Like, why was Polly Perkins so determinedly stupid to stand in the way of the robots, just for the sake of a photo? I mean, she could have at least stayed on the sidewalk, jeez!
