thwarted!

Went to go do historic fencing today - the first time I've fenced in ~3 weeks, maybe more - only to find that the site was flooded. Poor guy - that studio is his life :( I offered to help but there was little I could do.

Still feeling the urge, I did some pointwork against LaFaye (my dress mold), but it's so... unsatisfying to whack on an opponent who doesn't whack back!

Burnt the rest of my nervous energy on the exercise bike, but I hope A. is feeling well enough to do some foil on Wednesday. I'm getting rusty!

You could try tying a sword to LaFaye and putting her on roller skates ... THEN she might surprise you if you whack her ***grin***

Tie - where?? I suppose I could stick one into one of the plate separations (one of those adjustable dress molds) but it would be coming right out of the center of her chest - not exactly a great semblance to real bouting conditions :P

The roller skate thing on it's own would be a hell of a surprise though! :D

Well, you could use a couple of wire coat hangers to make her an artificial arm ... the ends of those should go into the plate separations very nicely. Can just see it now ... [livejournal.com profile] anotheranon doing battle with an multi-armed and bladed dress form on rollerskates ... ***HUGE teasing grin***

Finally going through my comments and this one stood out - dammit, woman, you're going to give me nightmares with mental imagery like this?

LOL!!!!! Sorry 'bout that. Because visualization is so difficult/rare in my thought processes, I forget that other people can read words and SEE the picture.

If it helps, just think of the modified LaFaye as a female counterpart to Edward Scissorhands ... scary looking on the outside and gentleness personified on the inside. :-))))))
