Because nobody's life, liberty, or property are safe when Congress is in session (their words, not mine) - perhaps a bit hyperactive (and rather popular; it's got a terrible case of the "slows" this morning), but interesting.

Hmmm - - let's see, who called dibs on JLS' futon? I think the Canadian CZ commune is sounding better and better - - ;)

I believe that Char is the top bidder (so far). For a crowd, I can always splurge on a couple of air mattresses. And Canada's encourages skilled Americans to come north ... let me know if you want me to find and post the Immigration Canada site. ;-)

I up the ante for the futon unless Char can get a link more freaky than this (http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A44676-2004Jul12.html) (linked many places, pulling from the WaPost maximum lack of tinfoil hattiness).

They wouldn't. Would they?

Yeah, I saw that one when I scrolled through the link in your original post.

You're asking ME whether they would???!!!!! I live in a country where many people believe the reason that the U.S. military gets such a big chunk of the budget is that the U.S. government is scared of a coup if they don't cough up. So yes, I DO believe they would.

Scarily enough, over the past month I've been rewatching Babylon 5 through from the beginning; d'you know it's possible to substitute the words "President Bush" for "President Clark" without changing the story's context? ***shivers***
