linky-dinks: rubber
Making Latex Clothes - with this book and this link I'm learning about the nuances of working with rubber - it will be a long while before I make anything substantial, but I may get some washing gloves and rubber cement just to get used to working with the material. Other work: check out LatexDesigner.com for beautifully delicate rubber roses and
imp_of_satan for rubbery photography (possibly NSFW).
Keeping with the rubber theme: Boing Boing ran a story on Making your own WWII era "victory espadrilles" but as the link to instructions doesn't work, I'm going to focus on the other link regarding making sandals out of old tires. Interesting technique, but a bit too "birkenstocky" for me - got all these lovely treads, make BOOTS! And if your feet sweat, well, that's what socks (and winter!) are for, aren't they? :P
