Pink Project part 1: Stays

Finally got the photos uploaded: they are the first things in the slideshow in my Historic Costuming photo folder.
Some notes re: style/shape: These are made to go under a ca. 1800-1815 Regency or "empire" gown (think Josephine, or Dolley Madison). The intention wasn't to pinch the waist, but to smooth the waist and belly while pushing your bust upwards - sort of a long-line push up bra, which it does admirably :)
The two holes in the front are for the laces that hold the busk in place - this was laced tightly enough that it stayed on it's own. Because of the length of the stays, you stand/sit up very straight indeed with these on! The lacing at the hips is so you can sit down comfortably!

<gears turning>.....Hmm. I do still have some of that green and black vinyl left over. I wonder if Aeryn would wear a corset like this? Or would jacket + corset be too matchy-matchy?
