Costuming links, etc.

This post is mostly notes to myself, but public for your amusement/suggestions.

I'm busily trying to sort out the outlay of $ necessary to complete the Pink Project. Will need: muslin to fit pattern, shoes, gloves, stockings, wig, some sort of headgear (probably made out of leftover dress fabric), jewelry. Can she do it, ladies and gentlemen?

Trying valiantly, getting pointers here and here before pillaging my books. Happened across the Costume Manifesto's "Kinky" links, chock full of leather and latex goodness that is just going to have to wait because it's not very Jane Austen, is it?

Off to work, to ponder Empire waistlines and turbans between code crunching...

Oooh nice links.

And you never re: kink. You might want to make a pink vinyl regency dress some day. ;-)

Pink. Vinyl. Regency. Dress???

I think my widdle costuming head just EXPLODED!!! Fetish + Jane Austen = sick reworkings of "Emma" and "Pride and Prejudice" that I never thought possible!

LOL I'm really evil when it comes to doing twisted costuming. I never implement them but I have come up with some very insane ideas. Like that one. ;)

Makes me think of the black rubber and white lace gown worn by Serpentine in "Neverwhere" ... ain't nothing more intriguing than an old-fashioned outfit in new-fashioned materials ***grin***

Oh, no kidding! The idea of a Elizabethan loose gown (http://polaris.umuc.edu/~jthies/elizabethancoat.html) done in black vinyl or leather, with spikes on the shoulder rolls (http://www.saragrace.net/3A_SHLDR_ROLL_by_sg.htm) and chain/metal stud trim keeps haunting me. One day, one day....
