a bad day, salvaged

A truly shitty day at jury duty. Endless boring details that ran late; and due to rain and traffic I spent an hour and a half on the road, straining to see the lane lines and sit comfortably.

Got home, and bitched to D, who was ready with a smile, putting my bags away. He made it all better: Cocoa. Water. Painkiller. Even offered to make Thanksgiving turkey, something he's never done before, but assures me he can do as he will be here all day the day before to prepare.

I'm a lucky girl :)

I'm still waiting for the busk/lacing for the stays to arrive. Am reluctant to work on embroidery, as after writing all day my hands really hurt!

Did some fencing/rapier footwork to loosen up my tired joints. Note to self: don't try to do swoopy saber movements inside.

Bruises healing, but my right shoulderblade is pinching terribly. With all my fencing and sewing, I should get a squire and a ladies' maid. Well, maybe not the former, as D. still seems to not mind the massaging/ministering bit, but I suspect he's tired of lacing/unlacing (and of being called "my ladies' maid"). Any takers? :P

Must get up early and do the whole thing again tomorrow, subtracting jury duty and replacing with work. Hopefully hell-commute will not be duplicated.

All my stage combat partners have admitted to minor ceiling gouges as well.

I only nicked my ceiling fan once....

:D Yeah, I was rather shocked at the noise, and at the bits of plaster stuck to my weapon!

I was trying circular parries called "mollinelli"; you need not only headspace but horizontal space as well. Best to practice these outdoors!
