tweet(s) of the day

  • 22:18 I hurt. Lots. How can one tell if one has overtrained (as opposed to just played hard)?
  • 22:18 Just rebooted my computer. NOW all my print jobs go through :P
  • 09:28 How - HOW - is all this spam getting past my filters??
  • 09:30 In other news - still sore from yesterday but not as bad as I'd feared.
  • 10:23 IMHO this is just a cruel tease of Firefly fans: tinyurl.com/nleqvp

On the death of George Tiller

I really wish I were surprised, but I'm not. There's something very wrong when pro-lifers loudly demonize abortion providers and then feign surprise when someone actually acts on their vitriol - freedom of speech comes with responsibilty.

Me, I'm donating to Medical Students for Choice.

the lending library is OPEN

First come first serve, if more than one person is interested the first will be asked to send to the next when they're done, etc.:

The Medici Conspiracy: the illicit journey of looted antiquities, from Italy's tomb raiders to the world's greatest museums - with the full knowledge of the dealers and curators involved. Big on archaeology, scandal, and true crime.

Lost Souls - novel of an alienated teenager finding his way. Also, vampires :) Lambda award nominee in 1992. It's been years since I read this but the descriptions of how bleak adolescent life can be if you're weird resonated.

Sex With the Queen - readable, titillating and sometimes tragic social history. Hetero focus, alas, and while I disagree that Rasputin counts I still enjoyed.
