Just as a side note, I'm not unaware of the passing of the anti-terrorism bill last week. I've just been sticking my head in the sand over it, because I suspect that increased surveillance will violate civil liberties far more efficiently than it will prevent future terrorism. I feel guilty that I didn't write my senators about it, though I doubt it would have made much difference.
Now Shrub is reluctant to pass a bill that might actually improve airport security. doG forbid airport security be efficient and well trained.
*Sigh* back to my usual drivel about sewing, cats, and the time change, because current events are just too repellent to dwell on.

Given the numbers by which this thing passed both houses, I'd be surprised if anything anyone said would've made a difference. Hey, at least people can't be kept languishing in jail without being charged indefinitely as they originally wanted. That's something, I guess.
