news at 10, now with bullets

Things I've been doing outside of fencing:

  • More shoveling out of the dump guest room. I took 2 bags to a clothing swap and came back with only one, and the mini-fridge IS going on Craigslist Real Soon Now.
    • In that bag from clothing swap were, incredibly, pants that fit (!)

  • Doing a lot of hand sewing. I now have a pair of reversible (green/purple) sleeves to go with the various headwear I've been noodling on, and this completes my 16th c. women's kit, or nearly so. These deserve a post of their own.

  • D. used my time spent sewing to turn me on to "Lie to Me" and "Fringe". I'm enjoying them both, especially the latter which is like a darker, more complex X-Files.
    • And Anna Torv's character wears perhaps the best tailored suits I've seen on a woman on tv. Yes, even better than Agent Scully!

  • I've found some forgotten goodies in the course of cleaning out my fabric backlog. A red and gold brocade wants to be a Victorian-esque waistcoat, and a navy and gold cotton (batik?) might want to be a Miyake, or something else Special.

  • Reading The Alienist, a fitting follow up for the much enjoyed Dust and Shadows.

  • Discovering plus size steampunk/militaria and free patterns.

  • Not keeping up with my email very well.

  • Missing writing. May steal some time to do so, if only for myself.

  • Trying and failing both to get in bed on time and meditate.

Does the mini-fridge work ? And what size is it ?

The mini-fridge does work, and is clean. I don't have exact dimensions, but roughly 2 1/2' tall x 18" wide by 18" deep. Are you interested?

Hrm. ::gives it a think:: No, I think I want to stick with a bigger fridge at the booth, but thanks for giving me the info !

"The Alienist" is brilliant. There is a sequel, "The Angel Of Darkness", which is just as yummy.

Thanks for the tip - I may have the sequel as well!

As it is, I don't know how either got in the house - neither D. nor I remember getting them :P
