F*CK!

Just found out that one of the classes I am signed up for at Costume College requires bringing your own sewing machine.

I REALLY do not want to take my sewing machine on the plane, cross country with me - it is too heavy and I would worry about it being knocked around in flight.

So my options are:

1) Drop the Class
Pro:
  • Easiest, makes most sense
  • Gives me all of Friday free to attend other classes

Con:
  • Really wanted to learn to make Georgian corset

or

2) Purchase Singer Featherweight (i.e., small size) machine for $150-200 on Ebay
Pro:
  • I could always use another sewing machine (yes I could!!!)

Con:
  • Kenmore doesn't make a featherweight - so I'd have to invest in all-new Singer-specific attachments
  • $150-200 in addition to the $70 fee for the class
  • Still have to haul the thing cross country
  • Assuming I actually have the winning bid on Ebay

You know, spelled out like this the choice is so damn OBVIOUS...

Well.. I have Hunnisett directions for 18th c. corsets anyway...
