Don't mention the war
This is interesting. So is this.
I notice I've not been writing much about the "War on Terrorism" lately, despite my huge flurry of postings when this mess first started.
To tell the truth, I've not been keeping up with the news as I might. Part of that is lack of time (can't browse the news at work anymore), and part of it is that every small fragment of news I see is entirely too depressing. Callous though it may be, I worry more about the slow whittling-away of rights at home in the name of the WoT more than I worry about actual events in the Middle East.
There will be many protests here this weekend. I am not sure what stances I actually take on all of this, due to inattention. Personally, I'd be scared to protest this weekend - given the disturbing prescence of heavily armed riot cops at the inaugural protests last year I shudder to think how many more of them might be in the streets this weekend.
