tip of the iceberg

Tonight I was reminded just how much I still have to learn:

1) Endurance: I have a very hard time not running out of breath during "repeat until failure" exercises. I think I just don't know how to breathe correctly to fuel a sustained effort, but the things I'm trying to practice go to hell when I'm wheezing for one... more....breath!

2) Terminology: I admit this is one area where I've slacked off. For a long time I've figured that as long as I know the motions, I'm ok, but this is turning out not to be the case. I'm trying to set aside for private lessons but there's very little point in taking one if the coach and I aren't working with a common vocabulary.

I got a "homework assignment" over a month ago that lists all the different things one can do and I was supposed to go through and rate how well I do each of them. I did this for the actions I understood, and then got so busy I never went back to looking up the ones I didn't. I need to know what things are called before I can even start understanding why and when you use them!
