the shelf theory of mathematics
There is only limited space in my brain for mathematical formulas. Hence, working on simple and compound interest all weekend knocked basic addition off my "shelf", so I failed to realize that Saturday + 6 days != next Saturday, necessitating me to order out from Baja Fresh to have enough dinners for the week :P
Speaking of Baja Fresh, I've seen this over at
ragdoll's and
flummoxicated's, among others:
Watched the last episode of "Rome" with dinner. It may be short on historical accuracy, but the plots-within-plots are good and the overall "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Do The Roman Empire" groove is thoroughly entertaining. The emotions the actors manage to convey with a mute expression is priceless. Recommended, from a dramatic viewpoint.
Tired now.

Culinary: | Baja Fresh tortilla chips | Not haute cuisine but I could eat these all day, plain |
Literary: | Fate magazine and similar | After all these years I should know better, but the stories would be so cool if true! |
Audiovisual: | anything in the Whedonverse (Buffy, Angel, Firefly) | Too... many...perfect...one-liners!!! (Actually, I feel flagrantly un-guilty about this one) |
Musical: | Erasure | Every couple of years I need more than the Pet Shop Boys to properly fill my synth-pop cup |
Celebrity: | Cast and crew of "Lexx" | Over the years I've managed to soak up tons of trivia; I'm sure it takes up several brain shelves which would be better devoted to something else, like 790 one-liners |
