I've mostly completed the body block. I cut out a mockup of my pattern, made adjustments, and now need to re-trace those adjustments to the original block. Once I'm happy with it I'm going to transfer the whole thing to posterboard/cardboard for permanency.
Notes to self: I think I've figured out how I can use the block to re-draft for a larger-than-standard bust, but to prevent bagginess/hindered movement at the shoulder, extra fabric will need to either be taken in at the arm or shoulder seams, or a muslin will have to be done up to remove extra fabric, using a dart that will have to be drafted out of the pattern before cutting out of the good fabric... affecting the sleeve. Who knew fitting for one feature could be such a bitch...
In any event I am reasonably prepared for my next project, whatever it turns out to be. I'm waiting for inspiration to hit me like a sledgehammer to the head. This will probably happen while I'm asleep.
Also cut up my large pile of magazines from this past fall in preparation for scanning - large pile has been reduced to moderate pile. Many pictures of tall black boots - Sometimes I really wish I could wear heels!
In culinary news, I broke the month-long pizza fast with a tasty pie from Armands' - not deep dish, so not as bad as it could have been. It was GOOD. Not going to happen very often though.
D. has been hiding in his office with a new shoot-em-up videogame, so I've been a serious computer widow this weekend. I'm not too worried - D. likes to play a video game only until he beats it - winning on all levels. Then he loses interest. Just hope this happens before another late night.
Things to remember for the coming week - dr's appointment on Weds. morning; possibly chiropractic appointment after work on the same day but I should probably call to be sure.
