Well, I completed the partlet, buttons and all. I didn't try it on completed, but after all the fitting I did it DAMN WELL BETTER fit correctly. Hmm, maybe I'd better check...
Started the red satin stays, with a deep front point for a more interesting shape (and to make a good Elizabethan-era corset if I ever have the time/guts to follow through on the rest). Lined with denim it is already so stiff that it feels as though any boning will just be icing.
D. and I went out to see "Oceans Eleven" - D. promised to get me out of the house at least once this weekend, given that we both wimped out on Friday's party. It was the only thing in theaters that looked interesting (unfortunately, Lord of the Rings doesn't start until Weds.). Fine performances by all, no one outshone the others. Which means while it was enjoyable in the theater, it is rather forgettable outside of it.
Identified the location of a local thrift store called "Secondhand Rose" that I've heard good things about. Perhaps after the holidays...
Finally found where Tower has been hiding its video head cleaners, so maybe I can fix the VCR downstairs and be able to watch stuff in my sewing area when I'm dealing with the more repetitive/dull sewing tasks (like boning the corset).
Also trailed briefly through the "Dance" section, which I note now encompasses 2 whole aisles, up from one last time I was in. It was sort of strange to see names and faces on albums from folks I knew "back in the day". Strange, but good - they worked hard to get where they are.
Just cleaned up the kitchen floor - some green Odwalla "goo" had leaked out of the garbage. Interestingly, it smells like sour beer/cooking wine when spoiled, but like fresh cut grass when fresh. Serious olfactory flashbacks to college.
Got the last tiny bits of my Xmas shopping done! Gifts are now arranged on the kitchen table. I even got out the stockings out already (yes, the cats have their own stockings too). Scroogy tendencies aside, I think that in at least one or two cases I think I was right on the mark as far as "perfect gifts" so I look forward to seeing faces/hearing about them!
Got enough sleep but my headaches are not going away. Luckily I'm going to the chiropractor this week, maybe my lousy posture at work is affecting things further up the spine.
