tired and overstuffed!

Much holiday merriment over the weekend! First off to geekchick's for potluck and catching up. In a town of this size/traffic, living close by doesn't guarantee that we see each other often, and if nothing else, the holiday season provides wonderful incentive to get everyone together! There was much talking, eating, exchanging, laughing, guinea-pig ooh-ing, and.. eating!

Lunch at La Madeline today + dinner = stuffed me, and I can say with great confidence I don't care if I never eat again! Tomorrow my supervisor is dragging our group out for lunch; hopefully we'll vote to go to a salad bar or something (all the men, but, interestingly, none of the women, are on diets) and I can order a glass of water and a lettuce leaf!

I'm crawling along on the stays (same old story!) but the most...interesting costume story of the day is from the H-Costume mailing list - Palace 'ghost' caught on camera. We're trying to guess what period. I can imagine I see a divided gown with farthingale, but that could also just be static :P

I'm going to go continue repetitive sewing. Food dulls the vocabulary and I can't think of anything more coherent to write at the moment!
