daily notes

Today I went out and played in the snow - got haircut, pillaged grocery, behaved myself rather well at G Street (after successfully convincing myself that I don't NEED black neoprene).

I think I may be (shock!!) getting used to the whole "winter thing". Now that the folks in charge of snowplows and salt are prepared, the roads were fine even though there was light snow all day. I wasn't even that cold, which was a real surprise - I was very sure that it was nearly 40F, only to find out later that it's not been above freezing all day. I even thought it was kind of pretty, mostly because I wasn't stressing over how it was going to affect my commute. What a pleasant surprise!

Found "A Soldier's Viewpoint on Surviving Nuclear, Chemical and Biological Attacks" via Metafilter, and it's one of the most logical things I've read so far regarding how to EFFECTIVELY react should Something Bad(TM) happen. Douglas Adams was right - Don't Panic.
