summer teevee

I caught up with some tv while folding 2 weeks of laundry:

Leverage: how I love Timothy Hutton and his ensemble casts! "I'm having....feelings....about pretzels". Nathan needs to stop hitting the sauce though, and Archie Goodwin should give him a comb.

True Blood: am I the only person on Team Alcide? I've not read the books with him in it but HBO's version seems like a nice guy in a bad situation. Reminds me a little of Jayne, with more brains and less grumpiness (and lamentably less chest hair - can't a bear er, were, just be a were?)

Speaking of Firefly Warehouse 13's co-stars pushed all my geeky buttons this week :) Plus, H. G. Wells!

Alcide in the books is a sweetheart of a man and I have still not given up hope on him. I like him so far in the show too, although they're trying to make all the Weres badasses which kind of sucks. Book!Janice is a nice woman with a husband and a baby who runs an upscale beauty salon. It really pained me to see her suddenly being portrayed as a biker chick makeup artist. :-(

The good news (without spoilers) is that Alcide is still around -- he played a large part in the most recent book so hopefully he'll be staying on the show too. Then again, Lafayette never made it past Book 1 and he's still on the show! :)

Hey, a biker chick can be no less nice - and I thought she was kind to look out for her baby brother.

I do find it kind of curious that there are no starved or beat-up, skinny looking werewolves.

And I must say, I'm glad Lafayette is still in the series - he gets the best one-liners! But then, it's easier for me to accept that True Blood has only a peripheral resemblance to the Southern Vampire Mysteries they're based on.
