New sewing machine is secured. I love that I can do the research online and know exactly what I want when I walk into the store. In, out, real quick, no one gets hurt.

I haven't taken it out of the box yet though - I was so frustrated at my sewing last night that I thought I'd give myself a day of cool off before I open the box and read the manual (and yes, I always read the manual on sewing machines. My serger came with a videotape and I watched it too).

D. had chest pains and went in to the doctor. Turns out he has costochondritis, an infection of the cartilage in the ribcage. Neither of us had ever heard of it, but apparently it can happen for no reason. He's going to take painkillers and anti-inflammatories, and evidently the pain subsides fairly quickly though it may take 6 months to heal. I'm going to look after him though - no lifting, no leaning, no pressure, for at least a couple of weeks.

Lifting for myself though - sure! I am up to using 10 lb dumbells once a week - I know I should use them more often but I figure lifting garbage and cat litter must count for something. My arms are reasonably toned, I am quite pleased.

I've also lost 20 lbs since January. It's amazing what can happen when you give up pasta and pizza.

Dental appointment tomorrow (joy) and then to work. Big progress at work - after a week in the new office the microwave has been set on the counter, still in its box. Perhaps in another week it will be out of the box and then by September it will be plugged in. I'd do it myself, but there's so much paperwork/red tape that I shudder to think what would happen if I dropped it.
